Aerospace Parts Procurement Specialist (Remote, Hourly, Part-Time to Full-Time)

About Green Taxi Aerospace

Green Taxi Aerospace (GTA) is a Plano, Texas aerospace company developing an electric taxi (eTaxi) system for the Embraer E-175 regional jet. The eTaxi system lets aircraft taxi on electric power without running the main engines, reducing fuel burn, emissions, and noise on the ground. We are a small, fast-moving engineering team working with aerospace suppliers across the United States and internationally.

Job Summary

Green Taxi Aerospace is hiring a remote Aerospace Parts Procurement Specialist on an hourly basis to own supplier follow-through and component procurement for our eTaxi program. In this role you will source, quote, order, and track electrical and mechanical components, keep every supplier moving, and manage delivery timelines so engineering is never waiting on parts.

This position starts part-time with the potential to become full-time depending on capability. If you prove you can run aerospace procurement end to end and keep a large supplier base in play, the role can grow with you.

Responsibilities

  • Supplier follow-through: Chase quotes, specifications, samples, and open orders with suppliers so nothing sits idle. Escalate, re-engage, and find alternate sources when a supplier goes quiet.
  • Component procurement: Source and purchase electrical and mechanical parts for the eTaxi system, including motors, power electronics, controllers, cooling system components, power supplies, cables, connectors, harness hardware, fasteners, and machined parts.
  • Delivery timeline management: Build and maintain a procurement tracker with lead times, order status, and expected delivery dates. Flag schedule risk early and drive recovery plans.
  • RFQ and quote management: Prepare and send RFQs, compare supplier quotes on price, lead time, and quality, and recommend sourcing decisions.
  • Supplier onboarding and documentation: Coordinate NDAs, supplier forms, certifications, and quality documentation with suppliers and the GTA team.
  • Tech-demo logistics: Coordinate parts, shipping, receiving, and delivery timing to support technology demonstrations and test events so hardware arrives where and when it is needed.
  • Status reporting: Provide clear, regular procurement status updates to the Operations Manager and CEO.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in aerospace procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or supplier management.
  • Existing aerospace supplier connections and the ability to open doors with aerospace component vendors, machine shops, and distributors.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical components, part numbers, datasheets, drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Strong follow-up discipline. You keep many suppliers in play at once and do not let requests sit unanswered.
  • Experience managing lead times, delivery schedules, and order tracking.
  • Clear written and verbal communication in English.
  • Comfortable working remotely and asynchronously with a US Central Time team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with aerospace quality and compliance standards such as AS9100, FAA requirements, and export control (ITAR/EAR).
  • Experience supporting prototypes, test programs, or technology demonstrations.
