Anger Management Group Facilitator (Remote, Weekday Evenings, West Coast)

About Courseable
Courseable runs online classes for people who need them for court, probation or their own growth, including a weekly live anger management class on Zoom. Credentialed experts built our curriculum on SAMHSA’s anger management model, and it is independently reviewed. We’re adding a weekday evening class for students on the West Coast and are looking for a licensed clinician to teach it.

What you’ll do

  • Teach one 2-hour live class a week on Zoom, 6–8 PM Pacific (7–9 PM Mountain), on Monday and/or Wednesday.
  • Lead a group of adults, many of them sent by a court or probation officer, through a set lesson using our slides and manuals.
  • Take roll call after each class in our instructor console. Students’ certificates are based on your attendance marks.
  • Stay a few minutes after class for students finishing their program.
  • Share feedback on lessons and materials through the console.
  • As we launch new classes (healthy relationships and boundaries, and co-parenting), teach more sections if you want more hours.

What we handle

  • The curriculum, slides, and student and instructor manuals
  • Zoom, enrollment, payments, reminders and certificates
  • Student support and court paperwork

No clinical notes, insurance billing or caseload. This is a class, not therapy.

Pay

  • $100 per class: 2 hours of teaching plus 30 minutes for prep and roll call ($40 an hour)
  • Class-size bonus: +$25 when 10–19 students attend, +$50 when 20 or more attend
  • Full class pay if we cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice

Requirements

  • An active, unrestricted independent license: LMFT, LPC, LCSW, LMHC or equivalent. Associate, intern and provisional licenses don’t qualify.
  • A master’s degree or higher in counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work or psychology
  • 2+ years leading groups, ideally educational (psychoeducational) groups
  • Experience with court-involved or mandated clients: probation, diversion, corrections, family court or substance use programs
  • Calm, firm group leadership: you keep a group on track and handle a frustrated participant
  • Living in the Mountain or Pacific time zone, with the same evening free every week
  • A computer with a camera, reliable internet and a private, quiet room
  • Willingness to teach our curriculum as written
  • An anger management specialist certification (such as CAMS-I) before your first class, if you don’t already hold one
  • A commitment of at least 12 months

Nice to have

  • An LMFT, or a strong family or couples therapy background
  • Experience teaching parenting or co-parenting classes
  • Fluent Spanish
  • A California license
  • An existing anger management certification

How hiring works

  • A video interview
  • You sit in on one of our live classes, then teach a short practice lesson
  • We verify your license and sign a contractor agreement

To apply
Send your resume, and include:

  • Your license type, state and number
  • A few sentences about a group you’ve led with court-involved or mandated clients
  • Which weekday evenings you’re free, and whether you could also teach on weekends

Pay: $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 4.0 per week

Application Question(s):

  • What type of license do you hold, and in which state? (Must be an independent license.)
  • How many years have you led groups?
  • Do you live in the Mountain or Pacific time zone?
