About the role:

Join our team as an enthusiastic Associate Solutions Engineer for our commercial business, where you will serve large clients with diverse use cases. You'll play a vital role in bridging technical discovery and implementation for our wide range of customers. Your mission is to grasp and articulate customer needs, demonstrating the innovative features of Skydio's drone product line. You'll be the pivotal link between the efforts of our product and sales teams to create compelling, customer-specific demonstration plans that bring Skydio technology to life in real-world scenarios. Reporting directly to the Solutions Engineering Manager for Commercial, you will collaborate extensively with our Product, Engineering, and Sales departments, contributing to the timely delivery of groundbreaking autonomous solutions.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Foster a deep understanding of customer needs, pinpointing key success metrics, and orchestrating tailored product demonstrations and field trials.
  • Independently handle all facets of system demonstrations, from equipment setup and operation to troubleshooting, ensuring a compelling presentation of our technology's value to customers and partners.
  • Lead the charge in system validation and customer implementation processes and successful deployment.
  • Assist in crafting responses for RFIs, RFPs, and other technical documentation.
  • Act as a voice of the customer within our team, influencing product development and engineering strategies based on field experiences and feedback.
  • Support various go-to-market strategies and business activities as needed.

What makes you a good fit:

  • Solid technical background in areas including professional drone applications, radio systems, software, security, prototyping, and electronics.
  • Good understanding of the small unmanned aircraft regulatory landscape.
  • Relevant experience serving our major industries like electrical utilities, architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC).
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, adaptable to various audience levels.
  • Proven track record of implementing new technologies for diverse clients, collaborating effectively with technical teams to meet project timelines.
  • At least 2 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent mix of education and professional experience.
  • Mandatory possession of a Part 107 Certificate.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 70% of the time, engaging closely with clients and stakeholders.
  • Must be located on the Eastern timezone.

Compensation Range: The annual base salary range for this position is $95,625 - $121,000. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. In addition to base salary, Skydio full-time employees are eligible to enroll in our benefit plans and take advantage of a variety of incentives and stipends.
