We are seeking a highly-qualified Contract Humanities Content Reviewer to join our team at Catalyst Education, Inc., focusing on introductory psychology content. In this remote, contract-based role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and instructional effectiveness of our educational materials.

About The Role As a Contract Content Reviewer, you will evaluate content, primarily multiple-choice questions and instructional text, to ensure its quality and alignment with a specific introductory psychology textbook. This is a great opportunity for a subject-matter expert who is passionate about teaching and committed to delivering high-quality educational resources.

Responsibilities

  • Content Alignment: Review and verify that question content accurately aligns with the provided textbook\'s content and learning objectives.
  • Alignment Gap Analysis: Identify any topics or learning objectives from the textbook that are not adequately covered by the existing content.
  • Clarity and Accuracy: Evaluate questions and accompanying explanations for clarity, precision, and factual accuracy. Identify and correct any errors, ambiguities, or misleading information.
  • Feedback and Collaboration: Provide detailed, constructive feedback on content, offering suggestions for improvement and working with our editorial team to resolve content-related issues.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all reviewed content meets our quality standards and pedagogical best practices.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Education: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in psychology or sociology or a closely related field.
  • Teaching Experience: At least four semesters of teaching or TA experience for psychology or sociology at the college level (e.g., at a four-year university, community college, or AP-level high school) OR two or more years developing psychology or sociology content for an educational publisher.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Deep knowledge of introductory psychology or sociology topics and a strong understanding of how to assess student learning in this subject.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for errors in both content and grammar.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written communication skills to provide clear, actionable feedback.
  • Familiarity with EdTech: Experience with online learning platforms or content management systems is a plus.

Compensation and Availability

  • Compensation: Contract Rate of $35/hr. Hours will be submitted through an online payment system and approved by the Project Manager.
  • Availability: At least 15 hours of availability most weeks. Time away is fine, but we need to know in advance.
  • Equipment and Benefits: As a contractor, you will need to provide your own computer to complete the work, and there are no additional benefits provided.
  • Compliance: Proof of US citizenship is required and you will need to complete a W-9 form.
