Creative Copywriter (Part-Time Contract)

This a Full Remote job, the offer is available from: North America, United States, Canada

Reports to: Creative Lead
Location: Remote (Canada); West Coast preferred or PST hours required.

About the Role

NETGEAR is building an in-house creative team to own campaign, web, and social work end-to-end. The team is small and deliberately so: a Creative Lead, a UI Designer, a Graphic Designer, and this role.

This is the writing seat for the Consumer-facing side of NETGEAR. You own the words across everything the team ships: campaign lines, web and product pages, social, email, and the interface copy that sits alongside the design work.

It is a part-time contract role, deliberately focused. You are here to write, not to run the queue.

What you will do

  • Write copy for campaigns, web pages, social, email, and sales collateral, working from creative briefs and alongside the design team.

  • Work closely with our Sr. Integrated Marketing Manager, who is responsible for global campaigns, so that messaging stays aligned with the wider campaign plan.

  • Develop and hold the line on brand voice across everything the team produces, adapting tone by channel and audience without losing consistency.

  • Evolve our messaging using website analytics and consumer insights research, working with the people who own that data.

  • Write and refine UX and product microcopy in partnership with the UI Designer.

  • Use AI tools as part of your drafting and iteration process. We expect you to be fluent with them and equally clear about where they stop being useful. AI is a drafting partner here, not the writer.

  • Edit and raise the quality of copy produced elsewhere in the business.

What we are looking for

  • 4+ years of professional copywriting experience, ideally including in-house or brand-side work. Consumer tech or DTC experience is a strong plus.

  • A portfolio showing range: campaign concept work as well as functional copy that had to convert or explain something.

  • The ability to hold a brand voice consistently across channels, and to explain the choices behind it.

  • Practical experience using AI tools in a writing workflow, and a clear point of view on their limits.

  • Comfortable working to briefs and to deadlines set by someone else, and able to turn work around inside a short review cycle.

  • Working familiarity with Figma at a review and commenting level. You do not need to design, but you need to work inside the file.

  • A positive, curious attitude and a real appetite for learning. We support training on new tools, AI in particular.

  • Strong written communication with stakeholders who are not creatives, and the judgment to know when a question needs a call rather than a thread.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with research and user journey work as an input to messaging.

  • Video or motion script experience.

How we work

Fully remote, PST hours. The team works from a shared project board in monday.com and in short review cycles rather than long handoffs. You will have direct access to the Creative Lead and to stakeholders, and you are expected to use it.

We support training on new tools, particularly AI.
