Forklift Operator - Sit Down

<strong>Description<br><br></strong><strong>Job Hours (Shift): 3rd Shift 9:30pm-6:00am<br><br></strong><strong>Location:</strong> Huntsville, AL<br><br><strong>Position Summary<br><br></strong>The <strong>Forklift Operator – Sit-Down</strong> is responsible for operating sit-down forklifts to transport materials throughout the warehouse and loading dock areas. This role ensures safe and efficient loading, unloading, and movement of goods to support daily logistics operations.<br><br><strong>What Will You Do<br><br></strong><ul><li> Operate sit-down forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials between dock, staging, and storage areas</li><li> Perform daily pre-shift inspections and ensure equipment is in safe working condition</li><li> Load and unload trailers while maintaining product integrity and proper weight distribution</li><li> Accurately scan and track inventory movements using RF scanners or manual systems</li><li> Ensure materials are properly staged and stored according to operational requirements</li><li> Follow all safety standards, operating procedures, and company policies<br><br></li></ul><strong>Requirements<br><br></strong><strong>Qualifications:<br><br></strong><ul><li> 6 months or more experience operating sit-down forklifts preferred</li><li> Ability to obtain powered industrial equipment certification</li><li> Strong understanding of warehouse safety practices</li><li> Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions</li><li> Ability to obtain certification for powered industrial equipment</li><li> Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems preferred</li><li> Strong attention to detail and safety awareness</li><li> Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment</li><li> Must be able to pass a criminal background check</li><li> Must be able to pass a drug screening<br><br></li></ul><strong>Work Environment<br><br></strong><ul><li> Warehouse and dock environment with frequent forklift traffic</li><li> Prolonged periods of sitting while operating equipment</li><li> Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed</li><li> Exposure to outdoor elements at loading docks and varying temperatures</li><li> Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)<br><br></li></ul><strong>Why Join Schnellecke Logistics<br><br></strong>Schnellecke Logistics is a global, family-owned logistics provider with more than 80 years of experience supporting automotive and industrial supply chains.
