General Statement of Job<br><br>Under general supervision installs, maintains, and programs automatic irrigation systems within parks, landscapes, athletic fields, and other municipal properties. Performs in a professional environment where customer service is paramount.<br><br><strong>Minimum Training And Experience<br><br></strong>Education: High school diploma or GEDExperience: Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in golf course or landscape irrigation maintenanceCertifications:<br><br><ul><li>Valid driver's license<br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred<br><br></strong><ul><li>Associates Degree</li><li>Prior experience designing, installing and maintaining landscape irrigation systems on public, industrial, or commercial property</li><li>SC Pesticide Applicator’s license with Turf and Ornamental designation<br><br></li></ul><strong>Note<br><br></strong><ul><li>The City retains the right to determine equivalencies.</li><li>Any certifications not possessed at hire, must be obtained before the employee is removed from probation in order to continue employment with the City.<br><br></li></ul>Physical Requirements<br><br>Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including tractors, mowers, landscaping equipment, etc. Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to climb, reach, crawl, bend, stoop, etc. in the performance of job duties.
