Duties
- Design, deploy, and optimize complex network architectures including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), and data center environments to ensure high availability and scalability.
- Manage and configure network hardware such as Cisco routers, switches, ASA firewalls, Meraki devices, and Juniper equipment to maintain secure and efficient operations.
- Implement and oversee network security protocols including Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine), PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), firewall policies, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and encryption standards to safeguard organizational data.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform system administration tasks related to network hardware, operating systems (Linux, Windows, macOS), and virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere.
- Monitor network performance using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, and Splunk; conduct vulnerability assessments; and execute necessary remediation actions to uphold security standards.
- Configure and support network protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, DNS, DHCP, IPsec VPNs, load balancing solutions, and QoS policies to ensure reliable data transmission.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system design projects involving cloud security (AWS, Azure), automation (Ansible, PowerShell), scripting (Python, Bash), and DevOps practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in computer networking with a strong understanding of LAN/WAN architecture, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), and network switching fundamentals.
- Hands-on expertise with Cisco networking equipment including Cisco ISE for identity management; Cisco ASA firewalls; Meraki cloud-managed devices; Juniper routers; and open-source platforms like CentOS or Ubuntu.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure components such as SAN storage systems; data center operations; high availability configurations; load balancing; virtualization technologies like VMware or vSphere; and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Proficiency in network security practices including VPN configuration (IPsec & SSL), firewall management, vulnerability assessment tools like SolarWinds or SolarWinds NPM/Splunk; LDAP/Active Directory integration; encryption standards; and openSUSE/Linux server administration.
- Strong scripting skills using Python or Shell Scripting for automation tasks; familiarity with Ansible for configuration management; experience with system monitoring tools like PRTG or Nagios is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills in equipment support scenarios involving Cisco routers/switches/firewalls; system troubleshooting across multiple operating systems; and resolving complex network issues swiftly.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear explanations for stakeholders at all levels.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP/CCIE (Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional/Expert), CISSP or Security+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect are highly desirable.
