Job Overview

The Post Office Manager / Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the post office, supervising staff, ensuring compliance with postal regulations, and maintaining high standards of customer service. This role requires strong leadership skills, operational knowledge, and the ability to manage people and processes efficiently.

Duties

  • Supervise and manage daily post office operations
  • Lead, train, schedule, and evaluate staff performance
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of mail and packages
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and postal regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer inquiries or complaints
  • Monitor inventory, supplies, and equipment usage
  • Prepare reports related to operations, staffing, and performance
  • Ensure workplace safety and security procedures are followed
  • Handle cash management, transactions, and accountability (if applicable)
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Previous experience in a supervisory, managerial, postal, logistics, or customer service role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast‑paced environment
  • Basic computer skills (email, data entry, reporting systems)
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and handle moderate physical tasks
  • Background check may be required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a post office or mail‑handling environment
  • Experience managing staff schedules and performance
  • Knowledge of postal regulations and procedures

Work Schedule

  • Full‑time
  • Monday to Friday (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM), Saturday (9:00 AM – 2:00 PM)

Pay

£37,770.08 – £51,500.00 per year
