Private Equity Analyst/Senior Analyst

<strong>The Position<br><br></strong>Ironwood Capital is seeking an Investment Analyst or Senior Analyst to join our investment team in Avon, Connecticut. This role is designed for a high-performing investment banking or finance professional looking to transition into a hands-on investing role within middle-market private equity across new investments and portfolio company support, with meaningful responsibility, direct partner mentorship, and long-term growth potential.<br><br>Unlike larger platforms where junior professionals are siloed, our analysts are fully involved in all steps of the investment process, evaluating private debt and minority equity investments across a variety of businesses and industries from initial screening through due diligence, investment committee, closing, and ongoing board-level portfolio engagement. The successful candidate will demonstrate natural curiosity, attention to detail, business acumen, analytical proficiency, strong writing and presentation skills, and cultural fit.<br><br>Candidates for this position would be responsible for supporting the following activities:<br><br><ul><li> New Investment Opportunities:</li><li>Review and analyze investment memoranda, business plans, and management presentations</li><li>Build and evaluate financial models, deal structures, and valuation analyses</li><li>Participate in investment due diligence, including primary research and coordination with third parties</li><li>Conduct industry, market, and competitive analyses</li><li>Attend management meetings, as appropriate</li><li>Draft and present deal screening materials and investment committee memoranda</li><li> Portfolio Company Oversight and Project Management Support:</li><li>Provide financial analysis and capital structure monitoring and reporting for portfolio companies</li><li>Research market trends and competitive environments as part of exit opportunity analysis</li><li>Opportunities to attend and participate in board meetings</li><li>Support fund-level analysis and reporting</li><li>Write and present internal memoranda to support follow-on investment activity and amendments on an ongoing basis</li><li>Prepare externally viewed material including regular portfolio valuation reports and portfolio company updates for Limited Partner communications</li><li> Business Development:</li><li>Support the development and cultivation of key business partner relationships</li><li>Maintain and update the firm’s CRM system</li><li>Contribute to broader firm initiatives, including recruiting, marketing, and fundraising-related projects<br><br></li></ul><strong>Minimum Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>1-3 years of relevant professional experience in investment banking, private equity, private credit, commercial lending, transaction advisory, consulting, corporate finance, or other finance roles</li><li>Strong financial modeling and analytical skills; proficiency in Excel required</li><li>Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills</li><li>High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and strong work ethic</li><li>Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize effectively in a deadline-driven environment</li><li>Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic performance<br><br></li></ul><strong>Position Details<br><br></strong><ul><li>Full-time, in-office role based in Avon, Connecticut (suburban Hartford)</li><li>Competitive salary and performance-based bonus</li><li>Culture of mentorship; candidate will have the opportunity to actively participate in transactions and ongoing portfolio management alongside partners and associates</li><li>Long-term potential for advancement in a growing, established firm with an energetic team environment<br><br></li></ul><strong>The Firm<br><br></strong><em>Celebrating 25 Years of Middle Market Investing<br><br></em>Ironwood Capital provides non-control junior capital to middle market companies across the U.S. The Firm has invested $1.5 billion in over 120 companies since 2001 and currently invests subordinated debt and minority equity in amounts ranging from $10 million to $50 million.
