Product Manager: Finfra

This a Full Remote job, the offer is available from: United States

About Thatch

For most people, health insurance is something that happens to them: a plan chosen by someone else, with little room to fit their life. Thatch is changing that. We help companies give every employee a real healthcare budget instead of a one-size-fits-all plan, so people can choose the coverage and care that works for them, and employers get predictable costs they can control.

It’s a simple idea, but making it real means solving hard problems across healthcare, payments, and technology, and we’re just getting started. We look for people who like solving complex problems, use good judgment, and are comfortable working through ambiguity. People here care deeply about our customers, take real responsibility for what gets built, and are driven by doing work that matters.

About the role

Thatch is changing healthcare benefits. We give companies a way to offer every employee a health budget to choose the plan that fits their life, while giving employers predictable costs they can control. Making that possible means solving hard problems across healthcare, payments, and technology.

We look for people who like solving complex problems, take real ownership, and are comfortable working through ambiguity. People here have real responsibility for what gets built and care deeply about doing work that matters.

Our Financial Infrastructure (Finfra) team builds the systems that hold, move, and account for money across Thatch, from employer funding and insurance premiums to member reimbursements and card transactions.

We're looking for a Product Manager to shape the financial systems powering Thatch's growth. You'll own our ledger, money movement, and banking strategy, improve the economics of how money flows through our platform, and build the foundation for new financial products. You'll work closely with Engineering, Finance, and Compliance to solve complex problems where reliability and getting the details right really matter.

What you will do

  • Own the strategy and roadmap for Thatch's financial infrastructure, balancing reliability, unit economics, and new product opportunities.
  • Build and evolve our unified ledger, creating a trusted system of record for reconciliation, reporting, and treasury operations.
  • Make money movement more reliable and scalable, from premium payments and reimbursements to card transactions and banking integrations.
  • Improve the economics of how we hold and move funds, including treasury management, yield, and transaction costs.
  • Evaluate opportunities in card issuing, credit, and other financial products, making thoughtful decisions about what to build versus partner on.
  • Partner with Engineering, Finance, Operations, Legal, and Compliance to design systems that are scalable, auditable, and built to meet regulatory requirements.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of product management experience building payments, banking, or financial infrastructure products.
  • Deep understanding of financial systems, including money movement, ledgers, reconciliation, or banking infrastructure.
  • Strong technical fluency, with experience working closely with engineers on APIs, data models, and system design.
  • Experience building in regulated environments where reliability, accuracy, and compliance are critical.
  • Strong product judgment and financial instincts. You understand the business impact of technical decisions and know how to navigate trade-offs.
  • A track record of owning complex products end-to-end, bringing clarity to ambiguity, and delivering meaningful results.

Experience that stands out

  • Building double-entry ledgers, reconciliation systems, or other core financial infrastructure.
  • Working with FBO or omnibus accounts, sponsor banks, or banking-as-a-service platforms.
  • Launching card issuing, credit, or lending products.
  • Improving treasury operations, float management, or payment economics.
  • Navigating complex integrations with banking and financial technology partners.

How we work

  • We give people ownership and trust them to make good decisions.
  • We move quickly, learn from customers, and improve continuously.
  • We solve hard problems together, regardless of team or title.
  • We care more about building the right thing than following a perfect process.

What to expect

We aim to keep the process thoughtful, rigorous, and efficient. Most candidates complete it within three weeks. You can expect:

  • An initial conversation with a recruiter.
  • A conversation with the hiring manager, including a product review discussion.
  • Conversations with product, engineering, design, and cross-functional teammates.
  • A final conversation with executive leadership.
