[Remote] Advisor-Data Engineer MDM
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. FedEx Freight is seeking an Advisor-Data Engineer MDM to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of enterprise Master Data Management capabilities using modern cloud-based data platforms. The role provides technical leadership and mentorship while developing governed master data products, integration solutions, data pipelines, and governance processes that support analytics, operations, and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement entity models, hierarchies, matching rules, survivorship strategies, stewardship workflows, and governance processes to ensure trusted master data assets
- Develop and maintain scalable data ingestion, synchronization, publishing, and distribution pipelines across enterprise source and target systems
- Architect and implement API-driven, event-based, and real-time integration solutions utilizing cloud-native technologies and enterprise integration patterns
- Establish development standards, best practices, DevOps processes, and operational procedures supporting MDM platform reliability, scalability, and maintainability
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineers, developers, and administrators responsible for data management and integration solutions
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, business stakeholders, product teams, and data governance organizations to align master data capabilities with strategic business objectives
- Design and oversee integration architectures supporting Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, operational applications, data products, and analytics platforms
- Develop reusable frameworks and patterns for data onboarding, data sharing, data stewardship, data quality management, and master data syndication
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security, privacy, governance, and regulatory requirements related to master data assets
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase data accuracy, consistency, usability, and operational efficiency across the enterprise
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices related to MDM, data governance, data quality, and cloud data platforms
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
- Perform other duties as required
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Management, or related field
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience designing and implementing enterprise data management, integration, and analytics solutions
- Three (3) years of hands-on experience implementing and supporting Master Data Management platforms
- Demonstrated expertise designing matching, survivorship, hierarchy management, stewardship, and governance workflows in an enterprise MDM environment
- Strong experience developing cloud-native data solutions within Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Foundry, Databricks, or comparable modern data platforms
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Java, JSON, Spring, Python, and PySpark development
- Experience designing and implementing REST APIs, event-driven architectures, messaging frameworks, and enterprise integration patterns
- Strong understanding of data modeling principles including conceptual, logical, and physical data design
- Experience establishing CI/CD pipelines, version control practices, and automated deployment frameworks using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent technologies
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, provide architectural guidance, mentor engineers, and establish engineering standards
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience developing and operating enterprise-grade data quality, governance, and data stewardship programs
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to business and executive audiences

- Eligible to work remotely if located outside the Harrison, AR and Memphis, TN areas, provided the candidate resides within 50 miles of a FedEx Freight location within the continental U.S.
- Hybrid schedule for candidates located in the Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR areas, working three days per week in the office
- Regular full & part-time employees who complete 91 days of employment and work a minimum average of 12 hours per week are eligible to enroll in medical, dental, and/or vision coverage
