Remote Bookkeeper - Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Remote Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. In this vital role, you will manage the financial records of our organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all accounting functions. Duties

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analysis to ensure data integrity.
  • Process payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions efficiently while adhering to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards.
  • Prepare journal entries, general ledger entries, and double-entry bookkeeping to reflect all financial activities correctly.
  • Conduct account reconciliation tasks regularly, including bank reconciliation and account analysis, to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Generate detailed financial reports, including budgets, financial statements, and tax-related documentation for internal review or external audits.
  • Support governmental accounting requirements and non-profit accounting procedures when applicable.
  • Assist with tax preparation activities and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Utilize spreadsheets for data analysis, budgeting, and reporting purposes to streamline financial workflows.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all transactions, ensuring audit readiness at all times.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a focus on remote work environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, and other financial management tools.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP standards, governmental accounting practices (if applicable), and non-profit accounting procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability in payroll processing, account reconciliation (bank and general ledger), and journal entry management.
  • Familiarity with technical accounting concepts including double-entry bookkeeping, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Experience working with spreadsheets for data analysis, budgeting, and reporting tasks.
  • Knowledge of tax processes related to business operations or non-profit organizations is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
  • 10 key typing proficiency for accurate data entry; strong communication skills for clear report writing.
