Teaching Assistant (Level 2)

Mount Primary School is looking to appoint a caring and committed Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join our friendly and hardworking team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) who is also confident in providing high-quality general classroom support. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to help create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all children can flourish. Key Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils with identified SEND, following individual learning plans
  • Assist in adapting resources and activities to meet the needs of all learners
  • Support the teacher in managing behaviour and maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere
  • Help with the preparation of learning materials and classroom displays
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCo, and external professionals
  • Contribute to the wellbeing and personal development of all pupils
  • Provide support across the whole class to help deliver engaging and accessible lessons

Qualifications

  • Holds a recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Has recent experience in a primary setting, including work with children with SEND
  • Understands inclusive practices and how to differentiate support effectively
  • Is proactive, flexible, and a team player
  • Communicates clearly and positively with both children and adults
  • Has a strong commitment to safeguarding and supporting the needs of all pupils
