We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative (Nightshift) to join our team at our established site in Basingstoke (RG24 8TH) and work on our key Howdens contract ( internally this role is called General Operative). The role will offer a salary of £28,423.81 with a £1,872 night allowance, working Monday to Friday on a 10:00 pm to 06:30 am shift pattern.

The Role
As a Warehouse Nightshift General Operative, you will perform a variety of warehouse duties to support our nightshift operations for our key Howdens contract. You will receive, pick, put away, replenish, and dispatch items in an efficient, safe, and timely manner. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will ensure all equipment checks are carried out in accordance with procedures and raise any defects to your line manager.
About You
To be considered as a Warehouse Nightshift General Operative, you will need:

  • Previous experience of working in a warehouse environment
  • A desire to Continuously look to improve processes and procedures to improve efficiency
  • Understand the value of attaining the highest levels of Customer service
  • Awareness of manual handling techniques
  • To comply with all Health & Safety legislation
  • To commit to working night shift pattern
  • A minimum level of education, GCSEs (or equivalent) and have a good understanding of both written and verbal English
  • To be literate and numerate
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Have attention to detail
