Job Summary
SDLG North America Corp., a subsidiary of Shandong Lingong Construction Machinery (SDLG), is expanding its warehouse operations in Houston, TX and is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Warehouse Operator / Shipping Associate.
This role supports daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory control, picking and packing, forklift operation, order fulfillment, shipping coordination, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on warehouse experience, strong attention to detail, and prior experience supporting domestic shipping. Experience with international shipping, carrier coordination, customs brokers, freight documentation, quality checks, and shipping cost analysis is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations


  • Support day-to-day warehouse activities, including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, staging, and shipping.
  • Load and unload shipments safely and accurately.
  • Organize and store incoming materials in designated warehouse locations.
  • Maintain accurate records of received and shipped products.
  • Assist with warehouse organization, cleanliness, and space management.


Forklift Operation


  • Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as needed.
  • Load, unload, move, and stage materials using sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment.
  • Follow all forklift safety procedures and company equipment guidelines.
  • Complete forklift inspections and report any equipment issues.


Picking, Packing, and Order Fulfillment


  • Pick, pack, label, and prepare orders for shipment.
  • Use RF scanners, warehouse systems, mobile devices, or other tools to confirm order accuracy.
  • Package products properly to prevent damage during shipment.
  • Stage completed orders for carrier pickup or outbound loading.
  • Support channel-specific shipping requirements, including palletizing, labeling, and special handling.


Quality Assurance


  • Verify parts, quantities, labels, and shipping details before outbound shipments leave the warehouse.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for freight damage, missing items, incorrect parts, or packaging concerns.
  • Ensure outbound shipments meet SDLG quality standards for accuracy, packaging, labeling, and presentation.
  • Report recurring shipping, packaging, labeling, or freight damage issues to management.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve shipment accuracy, reduce freight damage, and minimize claims.
  • Communicate quality concerns related to receiving, storage, packing, or shipping processes.


Inventory Control


  • Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory reconciliation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies.
  • Assist with identifying damaged, missing, or incorrectly labeled materials.
  • Support inventory organization and warehouse process improvements.


Safety and Compliance


  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow company safety standards, warehouse procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Use proper lifting techniques and required personal protective equipment.
  • Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or process concerns to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications
Required


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of warehouse, shipping/receiving, logistics, or related experience preferred.
  • Prior forklift experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with picking, packing, labeling, staging, and order fulfillment.
  • Basic understanding of shipping processes, including parcel, LTL, and common carrier shipments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to inspect shipments for accuracy, damage, and quality concerns.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-focused.
  • Must pass background check, drug screening, and employment verification.


Preferred


  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Computer literacy
  • Experience communicating with carriers, brokers, UPS, FedEx, freight forwarders, or logistics providers.
  • Prior experience in equipment, parts, manufacturing, automotive, industrial, or machinery-related warehouse environments.

  • Ability to manage multiple shipping and warehouse priorities.
  • Clear communication skills with internal team members, carriers, and logistics partners.

  • Willingness to support both warehouse floor operations and shipping administration tasks.


Compensation and Benefits
Pay: $23.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility as needed
Hours: 40 hours per week
