As HR Manager, you will lead the day-to-day HR function for the hotel, working closely with the General Manager, Global Head of HR, Executive Committee and Heads of Department to support our people throughout their employee journey.

This is a varied, hands-on generalist role where no two days are quite the same. You'll provide trusted HR advice and guidance to managers and employees while supporting recruitment, employee relations, learning and development, engagement, payroll, workforce planning and HR compliance.

You'll combine a practical approach with strong attention to detail and a genuine passion for creating a positive employee experience, while helping managers develop the confidence and capability to lead their teams effectively.

This is a full time, office based position, working on-site at the hotel closely alongside our operational teams. Reporting to the General Manager with a dotted line to the Global Head of HR

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day HR function, providing professional and practical HR advice to managers and employees across the hotel.
  • Oversee recruitment and onboarding processes, supporting managers to attract, select and successfully integrate talented people into the business.
  • Provide advice and guidance on employee relations matters, including performance, capability, conduct, absence, grievances and other workplace concerns.
  • Support and coach managers in applying HR policies and procedures fairly, consistently and effectively.
  • Coordinate learning and development initiatives, identifying development needs and supporting managers in building the capability of their teams.
  • Support employee engagement, wellbeing, recognition and retention initiatives to help create a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Oversee HR administrator to ensure employee records and HR systems remain accurate and up to date.
  • Oversee the monthly payroll process in conjunction with relevant internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accurate and timely information is provided.
  • Produce and analyse HR metrics and workforce information, including turnover, absence, vacancies and other key people measures, providing insight and recommendations to hotel leadership.
  • Support workforce planning and recruitment budgeting and forecasting in partnership with operational and financial stakeholders.
  • Ensure HR practices comply with employment legislation, Company policies and relevant brand standards.
  • Continually review HR processes and controls, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency and the employee experience.
  • Support wider hotel and Company people initiatives and projects as required.

About You

  • Previous experience in an HR Manager, HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role, ideally within hospitality, luxury hotels or another fast-paced service environment.
  • Strong generalist HR knowledge with practical experience across employee relations, recruitment, performance management and the employee lifecycle.
  • Sound knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Comfortable providing advice and constructive challenge to managers at all levels.
  • Confident handling sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism, discretion and sound judgement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across a diverse workforce.
  • Highly organised with the ability to balance competing priorities in a busy operational environment.
  • Comfortable working with HR data and using it to identify trends and support decision-making.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach with a genuine interest in developing managers and improving the employee experience.
  • Confident presenting HR plans, insights and people metrics to senior stakeholders
  • CIPD qualification or working towards one would be advantageous.
